Online Race Coaching with Hugh Styles via Virtual Regatta and Zoom Following on from the great interest we had last week for the 1st RS Aero Virtual Regatta Champs with 109 entries from 17 countries, here is an excellent coaching resource to help keep our racing skills honed... Hugh Styles is an Olympian and Olympic Coach and has been providing some very useful coaching via Virtual Regatta and Zoom both to local Lymington sailors and globally. He runs VR races with coach commentary over Zoom and debriefs afterwards. Rather than just gaming, the focus is on DECISION MAKING - recognising when a decision needs to be made and then being able to select the correct one. I did my first VR session with Hugh last week and found the VR training very relevant and fun. As we now start a period of being able to free sail but not race yet, this can improve our racing skills whilst also keep our Class' community in touch with group activity whilst restrictions remain.
